PERFORMANCE
OPPORTUNITIES

At CAS we aim to provide performance experience for all students, without pressure or expectation of unreasonable perfection.

Our year centres around a major in-house production where students spend two terms preparing a full-length stage show and experience all components of a professional stage production (casting, costumes, stage design etc).

During the year we also hold two in-house recitals and take our students to a range of community events to showcase their work.

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

CAS Creative Workshops are a fabulous way to spend your school holidays. Open to CAS and non CAS students, these days are jam packed with creative fun suitable for all abilities. Each day offers a schedule of 30-60min sessions with breaks for lunch and afternoon tea (all food provided). Electives available so students can streamline the day towards their interests. Sessions include:

Tumbling and Tricks workshop - acrobatics, stunts, freezes and floorwork, slacklining, balance and strength, and more.

Move and Groove workshop - contemporary/lyrical, jazz, hip hop, drama, theatresports, ballet, musical theatre, craft, script work, cheer leading, and more.

CAS IN SCHOOLS

During the week and school holidays, the CAS team takes what we do out of the studio and into local schools.

We run school dance groups for all levels of experience and all ages. With the same nurturing and creative environment we pride ourselves on, our hour-long program focuses on a range of dance styles and prepares pieces to perform at school assemblies, Open Day, community performances and more.

Creative Arts Studio is proud to be one of the original affiliate members of DanceStep, a fabulous assistant teacher training program that helps our students develop leadership skills.

Each CAS teacher is also provided with ongoing support and training, as well as assistance with external programs or qualifications.

ASSESSMENTS

At CAS all ballet students sit internal exams every November/December. Students also have the option to sit their official Australian Dance Vision exam for the syllabus level they completed.

External assessments for some other styles (including drama) are also available for students who are interested.
